Deirdre T. Cooney focuses her practice on employment and labor litigation, as well as commercial litigation. She has represented clients in a wide range of matters, including contract disputes, and defended employers in employment-related cases both in court and before administrative agencies. Her experience includes handling claims involving workplace discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, unequal pay, and wage violations.
Before joining the firm, Deirdre served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lisa A. Firko, J.A.D., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, and as a pro bono law clerk for the Honorable Brian R. Martinotti, U.S.D.J., in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Deirdre earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and received multiple awards for Excellence in Oral Advocacy, Best Brief, and First Place Honors at the National Health Law Moot Court Competition. She graduated magna cum laude from King’s College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Neuroscience.
