Michael Calogero is a Partner of the firm and has devoted his entire career to the practice of matrimonial law, where he has resolved some of the most complicated and difficult cases in his field.
Mr. Calogero routinely negotiates and achieves creative and favorable settlements for his clients. His ability to do so is significantly aided by his extensive experience litigating high-net-worth and complex custody cases through trial, if necessary. This litigation experience has been called on not only by his clients throughout the metropolitan New York area, but also in jurisdictions outside of New York State as well.
Mr. Calogero has a well-earned reputation inside and outside the bar for his legal acumen, professionalism, and integrity, and has been recognized as a leading matrimonial law practitioner by several industry publications. Mr. Calogero is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and is one of the few attorneys in the New York matrimonial bar (as well as one of the youngest) to be individually ranked by Chambers and Partners. He has also been consistently recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and by Super Lawyers.
Mr. Calogero is admitted to practice both in New York and Massachusetts and is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association. He began his legal career as a Court Attorney for the Hon. Deborah Kaplan in a dedicated matrimonial part in Supreme Court, New York County from 2010-2013 before transitioning to private practice at Cohen Clair Lans Greifer & Simpson in 2013, where he was elevated to a Partner of the firm in 2022. He graduated magna cum laude from Albany Law School in 2010, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Albany Law Review, and prior to that, earned a dual BA from the College of the Holy Cross in 2007.
