Richard A. “Monty” Montgomery joined Transcendent Law Group as a staff attorney in 2018. Monty was a two-time Peggy Browning Fellow during his time in law school at Southern University Law Center. At SULC, he was a member of the Moot Court Board, he handled many client functions and performed legal research. Additionally, Monty developed and implemented surveys to understand low-wage industries in the New Orleans area.
During law school, Monty clerked for Kennedy, Jennik & Murray, a boutique labor law firm in New York City where he drafted research memos, motions, and other pleadings. Monty has litigation and transactional experience and assists our clients with contract negotiations and reviews, demands and all legal matters. He also assists with all stages of litigation.
Monty also brings to TLG a wealth of project management experience, derived from his 10-years’ experience in the theater and entertainment industry in New York City. As a result of these experiences, he possesses a wide range of diverse skills and competencies spanning technical strategy, strategic business planning, business management, leadership skills, negotiation skills, effective communication, team building, and technical proficiency.
In his spare time, Monty is a life-long lover of art, and performs in mainstage productions with the New Orleans Opera Association.
