With experience that is deep and far-reaching, Brendan is well seasoned in the area of environmental science. Prior to his career in law, Brendan was a senior environmental scientist with a national environmental engineering and science firm. Brendan designed and executed environmental remediation projects for clients including the U.S. EPA, U.S. Air Force, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and major oil and gas companies. Contaminants of concern included hydrocarbons, heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, amphibole asbestos, and radioactive materials, at Superfund sites, voluntary cleanup sites, legacy sites, and industrial properties throughout the United States. He also worked on hazardous waste management projects, and designed the oil spill response plan for an international oil and gas services company. Additionally, he conducted studies after oil spills for the U.S. EPA and major oil and gas companies aboard helicopters, offshore research vessels, airboats, and at incident command posts. Brendan worked on offshore projects, mapping ocean currents and studying oil spills. His work included extensive report writing and data analysis.

Following this experience and law school, Brendan went on to serve several law firms in the New Orleans area, where he has been involved in various aspects of environmental litigation.
