About Megan Elizabeth Arthur

Megan Arthur’s practice includes a wide range of complex civil litigation in state and federal courts with a significant concentration in complex family law and domestic relations matters, including the negotiation and litigation of contentious, high-value divorce proceedings, contested custody and parenting time matters, and various post-divorce disputes. Megan understands the significance of the legal situations facing her family law clients, and, while she works to resolve disputes professionally and efficiently, she is also a formidable and prepared advocate in the courtroom should a dispute become adversarial.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Megan has handled countless domestic matters in West Tennessee and has established a stellar legal reputation throughout Shelby County, Tipton County, and Fayette County, Tennessee. In 2025, Megan relocated to Nashville to be closer to family, and she is excited to expand her practice and offer her significant family law and domestic relations experience to middle Tennessee clients who need clarity, strategy, and steady leadership when navigating divorce and other family law issues.

While family law is the focus of her legal practice, Megan’s broader litigation background strengthens her ability to manage domestic relations cases involving financial complexity, business entities and valuations, and overlapping legal concerns. Her other litigation experience includes but is not limited to medical malpractice and personal injury matters, Title VII and ADA cases, EEOC defense work, Title IX litigation, creditor bankruptcy, and employment issues. Her breadth of experience in both Tennessee federal and state courts equips her to analyze cases from multiple angles, anticipate challenges, and implement strategies for her clients that are both practical and effective.

Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in History from Southern Methodist University in 2000 after which she worked as a broker’s assistant and client relationship manager for multiple senior h investment executives at a national financial planning corporation. where she gained foundational financial and analytical experience working in private wealth management. In 2006, Megan earned her J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she received academic awards for Best Legal Memorandum and Best Appellate Brief and served as a member and as a published author on the University of Memphis Law Review.

Over the years, Megan has been consistently recognized by her peers for her outstanding work in Family Law, being nominated and selected as a Family Law Super Lawyer in the Mid-South by Super Lawyers (2020-25) and being previously selected as a Family Law Rising Star in the Mid-South by Super Lawyers (2013-2018). She was also independently nominated and selected as Best of the Bar by the Memphis Business Journal (2022) and selected and named by her peers as a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation (2017). She has also served a three-year term as a member of the Memphis Bar Association’s Board of Directors, following her prior service on the MBA Young Lawyers Division Board of the MBA and her service as Vice President and President of the Family Law Section of the MBA.

Megan is a proud member of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association, The Memphis Bar Association, and the Marion Greer Nashville chapter of the Lawyer’s Association for Women. Outside the office, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, and is eagerly anticipating a return to the equestrian world, specifically the hunter/jumper discipline.
