About Shawn M. Collins

Shawn will be remembered as a brilliant, tenacious, caring, and courageous attorney. A gifted speaker, litigator, and strategist, he dedicated his life to fighting for those without a voice against the powerful interests that harmed them. His contributions to The Collins Law Firm, which he founded in 1992, were immeasurable. His leadership fostered a culture built on the values of fierce advocacy and service to others. His deep commitment to the law was evident in everything he did--whether comforting a client, arguing a motion in court, or developing a case winning strategy. To the thousands of clients he helped achieve justice and secure clean air and water, he will be remembered as a modern-day David against Goliath. To his colleagues, he will be remembered as a talented lawyer, mentor, and friend. And to his family, he will forever be a devoted husband, loving father, and the very personification of a "good man". We will continue to honor his legacy in the work we do and the people we help at Collins Law.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
