I had spoken with other lawyers, and had done some research prior to speaking with Michael. My search for a lawyer to help with brand management and patent on my invention stopped after Michael took the time to make sure we were moving forward informed. I highly recommend just talking with him, and think you'll gladly be a client if you do.

I always had the idea of filing for a Patent, an as I researched it seemed to be a very stressful task. I am very happy that I found Michael Ries & your firm. The Patent process was completed in less then 2 hours as you claim and went very smoothly. Your immediate response and explanation of the process was most appreciated to a new timer.I can not wait to have you help me take my invention further and help me with other new ones

Hired Attorney Mr. Michael Ries

Hired him to write my design patent and then he decided he didn't owe me anything. I have no doubt he gave me a deal, but I've asked like 40 times to provide me copies of all docs submitted like drawings etc (which I never saw or signed off on) and he has just totally ghosted me. I have licensing deals on the table that have been hindered by this attorney HORRIBLE communication skills. They are curious what my design patent even covers. I would resend this review if he actually did what he says

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.

Attorneys that receive reviews from their peers, but not a sufficient number to establish a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, will have those reviews display on our websites.
