Lauren DeShields serves within Motley Rice’s in-house legal department. As Assistant General Counsel, Lauren advises the firm and its attorneys on several important matters including risk management, ethics, marketing, contracts and regulatory compliance.
Lauren served as outside general counsel for corporate clients prior to joining Motley Rice, advising companies in numerous industries at a business law firm. There, she drafted and negotiated contracts, managed private securities offerings and handled business mergers and acquisitions.
Lauren clerked for multiple personal injury and business law firms in Columbia, S.C., and completed an externship with AGFirst Farm Credit Bank while pursuing her legal studies. She served as Technology Editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Property Trust and Estate Law Journal, tutored first-year students in contracts law, and is a CALI Award recipient in Contracts Law.
