About Vanessa M. Hird

Vanessa is an associate in our Professional Liability - Health Care practice group.

Prior to joining Meagher + Geer, Vanessa clerked for the Honorable Daniel C. Moreno of the Fourth Judicial District Court of Minnesota.

Vanessa earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, Vanessa competed as a finalist and won Best Brief in the Gender and Sexuality Moot Court Competition at Michigan State University. Vanessa represented clients in federal court as a certified student attorney with the Federal Immigration Litigation Clinic and volunteered with the National Immigrant Justice Center in San Diego through the Asylum Law Project. Vanessa also interned with a local immigration firm, working with clients on humanitarian and family-based relief as well as employment matters.

Vanessa graduated magna cum laude from the College of St. Benedict with a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies and English Literature. Prior to law school, Vanessa worked in advertising for three years at a local agency.

Vanessa is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she coaches students in written and oral advocacy for a civil rights-focused moot court competition.

Outside the office, Vanessa enjoys reading, traveling, and attending concerts.
