Later, Ms. Diaz de Villegas attended St. Thomas University College of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree and graduated within the top 10% of her class, earning magna cum laude honors.

During her time in law school, Ms. Diaz de Villegas received several honors and distinctions, including 'Book' awards for the highest grade in the following courses: Evidence, Seminar: Women and the Law, and Legal Methods & Essay Writing. Ms. Diaz de Villegas was also on the Dean's List every semester and was invited to join the St. Thomas Law Review after earning the highest grade in the Write-On Competition. Ms. Diaz de Villegas then served as Editor-in-Chief of the St. Thomas Law Review, where she had the ultimate responsibility of operating the publication. One of her primary responsibilities was to prepare the Law Review for publication, which includes working with all board members at various points throughout the process while managing and mentoring the incoming member-candidates.

Ms. Diaz de Villegas is committed to giving back to the legal community. She spent much of her time during law school as an Academic Success mentor, where she provided guidance and support to first-year law students. Additionally, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Migna Sanchez-LLorens. Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, she worked as a Law Clerk for various boutique law firms with a focus on private civil practice.
