David Russel Cook is a Partner in the firm's Miami office. He is an experienced litigator and civil circuit court mediator. Over the past two decades, his practice has focused on the defense of construction, transportation, and hospital system clients. He's tried numerous multi-million-dollar cases to verdict and has been upheld on appeal every time the underlying results have been challenged. Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mr. Cook was a Managing Partner of the Miami, Tampa and Jacksonville offices of a national civil defense firm.
Mr. Cook received his Juris Doctor from University of Miami School of Law, graduating cum laude. During law school, he was an Executive Board Member of the University of Miami International and Comparative Law Review and earned Dean's List honors, the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, and the Dean's Certificate for Achievement. Mr. Cook also interned at the Miami-Dade County Health Department and for the South Florida Aids Network.
Prior to law school, Mr. Cook received his Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Latin American Studies and Spanish, from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (UNC) and holds a graduate certificate from UNC in Core Public Health Concepts.
Prior to entering private law practice, he spent several years doing charitable work in various Latin American countries and for underserved communities in South Florida.
