David B. Rubin, P.C., Attorney at Law, was founded in 1995 by David B. Rubin, a member of the New Jersey bar since 1977. A native of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Mr. Rubin received his undergraduate degree from Duke University magna cum laude in 1974, majoring in public policy studies and economics. He received his law degree from Rutgers School of Law - Newark in 1977, and has pursued post-graduate study in taxation at New York University School of Law. Before forming his own firm to better serve a growing and diverse clientele, Mr. Rubin was managing partner of Rubin, Kuhn, Kaplan, Cahn & Goldstein, P.C. in Piscataway, New Jersey, where he had practiced since his admission to the bar.
Over a distinguished career of thirty-six years, Mr. Rubin has received the "AV" designation from the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory, the highest rating for competence and character based on confidential peer reviews. He has been recognized by SuperLawyers magazine (2012) and Best Lawyers in America (2012), and is a recipient of the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law's Professional Lawyer of the Year Award, given annually to lawyers who, by virtue of their conduct, competence and demeanor, have been found to set a positive example for others in the profession.
Mr. Rubin has been appointed to numerous positions of public responsibility including: Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Professional Responsibility and Unlawful Practice Committee (2012-2013), Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Committee on School Law and Equity Jurisprudence Committee, Municipal Prosecutor and Municipal Court Judge of the City of New Brunswick, Secretary of the Middlesex County Fee Arbitration Committee, Chairman of the National School Boards Association's 3000-member Council of School Attorneys, President of the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys, lecturer in education law at Rutgers University Graduate School of Education, the Editorial Board of New Jersey Lawyer, and Court-appointed mediator, arbitrator and fiscal agent.
