I have a bad track record from a bad past and had a petty theft 2 years ago in mentor. Due to my lengthy track record they were trying to give me 180 jail w. A public defender. I ended up doing 15 days and told if i was ever in his court room again on a petty theft to just prepare for 6mo in county bc he would show zero leiency. 1 yr later I got another petty theft in mentor and was looking at 6mo in jail. Jim worked some type of voodoo magic because I went to sentencing yesterday fully prepared to not leave unless it was in handcuffs and a cruiser to take me to county but Jim got me off on house arrest so I can still work, continue going to college, be a present mother, pay my bills and not lose everything i own from sitting in jail for months on end. He was responsive throughout the entire process, was kind and understanding and charged a very reasonable affordable amount. Ide 100% be in jail rn if I had anyone but Jim
Jim was so quick to jump in and help in my situation. A simple speeding ticket had gotten out of control since I was keeping my whereabouts discreet to avoid an abusive ex. I was terrified and so stressed out, but Jim, even on the weekend, was responsive via email. When it was all said and done he was able to get the warrant removed, sealed my address for added privacy for me, and got the speeding ticket reduced to a parking ticket. Awesome attorney! He cares.
He was ill prepared/lacked preparation to make effective agreements on my behalf in court. He was not a good communicator along the way and frequently kept me out of the loop regrading decisions in my case. Avoided many important questions that were asked by me during the lengthily court process that ensued. He definitely had his own agenda which was not in this client’s best interest.
