John's journey began as an Army brat, leading him to pursue his education at SMU during the Dickerson/James years after transferring from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. At SMU, he earned degrees in Mathematical Statistics (BS), Economics (BA), and General Business (BBA). Following his time at SMU, John embarked on a career at the Governor's office in Austin.Driven by his passion for law and public affairs, John enrolled at the University of Texas, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Public Affairs from the prestigious LBJ school. After completing his legal education, John gained valuable experience by working as an associate at two different law firms for a cumulative period of four years. In the fall of 1994, he co-founded his own law firm alongside three other attorneys, one of whom currently serves on the 4th Court of Appeals.Over the past two decades, John has consistently showcased his legal prowess by averaging at least two significant trials per year. His expertise extends beyond the courtroom, as he has also achieved successful arguments before the 13th Court of Appeals on numerous occasions and appeared before the esteemed Texas Supreme Court, advocating for his clients' interests.
