I have used Damon Wooten on two different family matters...one of which being my divorce. In both cases right up front he told me what he charges and if you think he is high, call other attorneys and find out what they charge. There are a lot more out there that charge more and if they charge less...remember...you get what you pay for. Not only did Damon excel at representing me on both my cases, he surprised me by getting me a whole lot more from my divorce than what I thought I would get.There
We retained Mr. Black’s services and were not happy with his work. The first red flag was that he did not provide an agreement for services when he took the retainer payment, so it wasn’t clear what we were actually paying for. Based on our initial consultation, we expected that he would file the appropriate paper with the court and follow up with the process until the court’s determination of the case; we believed that’s what the fee would cover. In our initial consultation with him, we were very clear about why we wanted to take legal action and what we hoped it would accomplish. However, once we got partway into the process, he told us that we would need to file additional lawsuit(s). He did not follow up with the court to provide them with necessary info. We finally fired him, but he didn’t even respond to that message, until we threatened to file a complaint with the state bar association. He did not provide documentation related to the case.
