Mr. David C. Carlile is a lawyer practicing toxic torts, environmental, personal injury and 3 other areas of law. David received a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University, and has been licensed for 52 years. David practices at Carlile Craig, L.L.P. in Marshall, TX.
Mr Carlisle sued my family out of business in 2000. He bragged that he had successfully sued businesses in Texas out of business on his website where he marketed arsenic lawsuits to other lawyers. Although his lawsuit was based on false environmental reports, when he found out the truth he said it didn’t matter. He told me the lawsuit already had legs of its own and the mistaken facts were. If no consequence. Today, 20 years later, I no longer own my business nor the family legacy we has developed over the period from 1938 when my Dad started the business. Interestingly, Mr Carlile’s Dad served with my Dad on the East Texas Baptist University Board of Trustees and the Carlile family and my family were both graduates of Baylor and benefactors of the Baylor Development programs. Thanks to David, my family ability to support as well as our legacy and reputation in the community were dashed. My advice would be to beware of him and his firm.
David Carlile is a crook! He will buy up your property/golf course offer golf for life and then run the course into the ground. At that point he will close the golf course but then steal all the money from your HOA because he owns the HOAs and some remaining lots. Every lawsuit that is brought against him he will pay off or threaten those involved until you drop it. He also owned the community sewer system in which he didn’t maintain, received numerous citations from the state, then closed that because it was “costing him money.” This forced the community to now shell out $15,000+ each to put in drip systems that the state had to make exceptions for because our lots were legally too small for. Please don’t do business with this scam artist!
Beware of purchasing property from Mr. Carlile. Promises are not kept, such as offering lifetime golf memberships for the purchase of lots on courses he owns or has owned. His modus operandi is to develop lots around his golf courses until full (also changing course layouts to develop more properties, damaging the course), then let the course dilapidate and either close the course or fire sale it. Members then lose their lifetime membership, which were promised when purchasing lots. This is currently happening at Oak Forest in Longview, TX and has happen at other courses he has owned (i.e. Gladewater) (Garden Valley in Lindale will likely be the next course to close as soon as all lots are sold).
