Richard Tabura focuses his practice defending product manufacturers against consumer protection and product liability claims. He litigates and manages single-plaintiff, coordinated actions, mass torts, and class actions in state and federal courts, regularly appearing in courts throughout California.
Richard routinely handles matters from the pre-litigation stage through trial. He has broad experience preparing pleadings-based challenges and dispositive motions which have led to outright dismissals or have placed significant settlement pressure on opposing parties. A member of the ABA’s Mass Tort Discovery Strategies committee, Richard is well-versed in conducting discovery in multiparty, complex cases. While always keeping an eye towards the big picture and avoiding unnecessary disputes, Richard leaves no stone unturned and works to ensure his client’s best story is affirmatively developed and told. He has also taken numerous depositions of complex experts and healthcare providers, and has defended numerous depositions of key company witnesses. Richard also has significant trial experience, including second-chairing multiple jury trials. In those trials, he led the motions team and directed and cross-examined key fact and expert witnesses.
