Mitch, What you stated will not be reasonable, based on California probate law, which I quoted you. If I do not receive my statement by 11/30, any additional cost will be charged to your client. I am concerned that your client as well as you (as the attorney) cannot meet state required obligations? This is a consistent theme based on my experience with your organization. Although this is my father’s first experience as a widower, your experience should have guided him on the best way to address all of the challenges he would have faced. Unfortunately, you have not. As the attorney for the estate of my mother, I have been completely let down. You have done nothing to ensure that my best interest (as an heir) has been protected during this process. You have put my father in a position where I can sue him and win due to not advising him correctly. This jeopardizes any possible relationship we can salvage once this is done.
