Representative Matters: Won a trial on behalf of a plaintiff in which the jury awarded $7.5 million to our client, demonstrating that the defendants failed to pay for a large consignment of sporting equipment. The court further ordered one defendant to pay additional pre-judgment interest, bringing overall award to $10.5 million.
Persuaded the jury
the court to permit the client to continue operating a new company after the plaintiff sought millions of dollars in damages
to permanently close the new company. The new company was founded by a former employee of the plaintiff. The court ultimately awarded the plaintiff a monetary judgment, yet client won the right to continue operating.
Persuaded a jury not to reassign valuable medical patents for a new invention created by the defendant, a prior employer of the plaintiff company. The plaintiff also sought more than $9 million in damages, but jury awarded just $795,000.
Represented the defendant in a binding arbitration, which found for the defense in all but one action relating to a real estate purchase agreement dispute where developer/purchaser accused our client of failing to disclose material documents. The plaintiff sought specific performance to convey large parcel property at no cost, damages for delay,
lost profits of $5 million. Ultimately, no conveyance was issued,
the plaintiff was awarded a small money recovery.
Won summary judgment for the defendant related to all trademarks used by its business. The plaintiff previously filed motions to compel discovery which were successfully resisted,
the court sanctioned the plaintiff for discovery abuse. The court later ordered that the defendant should receive costs
fees, which were were significantly enhanced under the Lodestar.
Negotiated a favorable settlement for clients involved in internet commerce suit involving copyright
trade dress infringement claims.
Represented the plaintiff in mediation of a gender
religious discrimination case which provided our client with a settlement in excess of a quarter million dollars
released him from a non-compete agreement.
Won an employment dispute on behalf of a medical device company in which the court found for our client in three of the five claims.
