This firm was very prompt in returning calls, and always accompanied me to court. The case was settled to the satisfaction of both sides.
I lost my home in a fire. It was a crime, someone tried to kill me and burned my house down. My insurance company was refusing to pay almost everything and then I found Ross. Even after paying him, I still ended up with much more money than had I not retained him. He handled everything in a timely manner too. He also went beyond his scope of duty and is attempting to work with my mortgage company on the payoff. I have given him 2 more legal issues that have arisen since my husbands death.
They were very efficient and responsive.
This firm offers clients a Legal Protection Plan that provides several complementary legal services to members of the plan, which I think is a wonderful program especially for clients who are in fixed incomes.
I had a trip and fall accident on 9/12/13. After contacting the property owner, with no success, I contacted & met w/Justin Stovall on 10/11/13. It took him 3 weeks before he got back to me w/an approved doctors’ appointment (Nov 7, 2013), 2 more wks before approval for MRI then 1 more week before I saw the doctor for the diagnosis, Nov. 21, 2013. On Nov 25, 2013 Stovall contacted me by phone to inform me the property owner had no insurance which presented a challenge but he would move forward on my behalf. He said he would contact me after the holidays. {para}On Jan. 13, 2014 I contacted the medical provider to find out if approval has been given for further treatment. They hadn’t heard back from Stovall but would call the firm to find out. Later that day I received a message from the doctor’s office informing me Stovall’s office claims they never received their request for further treatment and they had to resend their request. It wasn’t until Jan. 22, 2014 when I heard back from the doctor’s office informing me that a member of the Stovall staff told them that no further treatment will be approved as Stovall has dropped my case! I was horrified!! No member of Stovall’s staff EVER contacted me via phone, email or US mail to inform me of this decision! I contacted Justin Stovall via his cell phone, email and business phone asking what was going on. He did contact me via phone within approx 1 hour. He told me that the decision was made by the firm, not him, to drop my case since the property owner had no insurance. He apologized for the way I found out. Apparently this decision was made on Jan. 17, 2014, just before the 3-day holiday and he hadn’t had the opportunity to call me. {para}I am not an idiot! I realize that a case taken on a contingency basis is much different than when one is paying an attorney by the hour. I understand why they dropped my case. What I don’t understand is their lack of professionalism in handling my case! If I hadn’t initiated 90% of all communication I’d still be sitting here in pain with a torn ligament asking myself, “what do I do now?!”{para}I wouldn’t recommend this firm to get a dog released from the city pound!
Since July 2008, Attorney Stovall has not been my lawyer. Yet, Mr. Stovall continues to bill me; that is, as if I were his client for four years. I have not authorized any legal services since July 20th, 2008. Stovall's dishonest practice of billing for work neither requested nor authorized by me violates the rules of professional conduct and commits an act that reflects adversely on the Stovall's honest, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer in other respects.
Attorney always late or no show for court-no communication re: case probate.
