Jovanna S. Bailey focuses her practice on various aspects of estate planning and administration, including trust management, succession planning, asset protection, and tax planning related to federal income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
With experience in estate planning and administration, Jovanna handles a wide range of tasks such as drafting simple and complex wills, establishing powers of attorney, crafting living wills, and creating both revocable and irrevocable trusts. She works closely with clients to develop and execute intricate estate planning strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities. Her expertise includes utilizing tools such as spousal lifetime access trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, dynasty trusts, and qualified personal residence trusts.
Additionally, Jovanna possesses knowledge in addressing Florida homestead issues, preparing federal income, estate, and gift tax returns, and conducting post-mortem tax planning.
Jovanna earned her LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, focusing her studies on advanced estate planning techniques, federal taxation pertaining to gratuitous transfers, and income tax considerations for trusts and estates. She also holds a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she served as an Editor for the Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy and actively participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.
