He had a very cynical attitude toward the judicial system.
Mr. Kontos needs to retire. The biggest red flag in our consultation was that it was "too good to be true". On a cold call he spoke to me on the phone for more than 6.5 hours, telling me that he would represent me and going through my entire case file with me and the history of my entire conflict. He assured me that the next day we would sign a contract, pay the retainer and begin work. I woke up to find a rejection email from him on the basis that even though he believed me, and money wasn't an issue, he has "too much secondary trauma" watching clients get chewed up by a corrupt system and he didn't want to watch it happen to me. Imagine a paramedic arriving at a car accident and saying "I am tired of watching people bleed out." And then getting in the ambulance and driving away. If David truly has this level of secondary trauma then he needs to retire.
In a nutshell, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere for legal assistance. I hired David Kontos to help me with a child support modification brought on to me by my ex-wife. During the trial, the numbers were changed by the commissioner. David and the opposing attorney scratched out the numbers and hand wrote in more. Those were scratched out and a new total number was written in for both kids. Fast forward to today, three years later. My ex-wife got mad and put me into DHS for collecti
David was recommendable with divorce process but not drug crimes.
