Rebecca is a great communicator, explained things well as we went along. Unfortunately, through no fault of hers, the case was continued multiple times. I paid only one up front retainer. When my son was going to step in to my place for me, he paid only a small retainer. When the case was ultimately withdrawn, she refunded his retainer. Rebecca communicated easily via phone and email and was very responsive in getting back to me in a timely manner. She is very caring, honest, and professional.
I retained Rebecca Martins-Rivers in January 2025. Had to constantly request draft documents. She eventually sent a draft that was full of errors and had someone else’s name (no relation) included. I discussed my case ad nauseam via phone and email, yet she still managed to get the details wrong. She constantly mentioned being a sole proprietor and how busy she was with other cases. And she does not provide monthly itemized bills, per the agreement. I got tired of the excuses, eventually terminated the agreement and requested an itemized bill to review BEFORE the refund was issued. Rebecca issued the refund minus $1,000. She spent more time creating the invoice than she did on any case-related work. Hired another attorney who got what Rebecca could not get done in two months, completed and filed in three business days.
