Wesley A. Barnum is a law firm with an office in Joplin, MO. At this office location, there is 1 lawyer.
I found Mr. Barnum to be very professional yet easy to talk with. He was caring and concerned about my situation and gave me good direction for a nominal charge. I was very pleased with the service I received and would return to Mr. Barnum should I have a legal need in the future.
When I went to Mr. Barnum I expected an atty who would be honest, upfront and treat me with respect. My case dragged leaving me helpless, communication was nil. This being a horrible time in my life I was shocked to see him treat me like I was nothing and acted as if he was out a great deal on my "contingent"case. Having studied ethical standards, I feel that this atty is way too judgemental of clients.
This lawyer recommended my 16-year-old leave my home where he's been for 11 years to go live in a house with his grandmother and not have no rules while issuing emergency custody to the uncle and allowed the mother to sign her rights over and asked me to sign mine over as well. All because the uncle and his mother don't want to take care of their parents that are blind and handicap they want my 16-year-old to do it. He lived in my home he was taking care of I provided everything for him money food housing nice clothes he got to live and be a kid and enjoy life travel now he is stuck working at McDonald's supporting his own self because his mother don't want to support him she has already signed her rights over and this lawyer makes that okay he submitted a referral before even meeting both parents he just went upon a 16 year old's word who is mad because he wasn't bought a new truck after wrecking a truck and almost harming himself and his friend. Now my son has a ticket for 16-19 ov
He does a poor job of communicating with clients. He also moved without telling at least two of his clients. Overall, a poor communicator.
I was ignored weeks leading up to the court date. He came into court unprepared. I looked like a fool. He seemed very unconcerned with my case the entire time. I would suggest finding someone more prepared and willing to give your case the time it needs. Good luck out there
