Firstly, I have no issue with Mr. McNamara or Ms. Scholar as I had zero interaction with them. This review is based on my retention of Ms. Sarah Lycans to act as my attorney in a family law matter. Unfortunately, my experience with her was extremely unpleasant and I would caution anyone who expects anything more than the bare minimum from an attorney to seek help elsewhere. Ms. Lycan’s was extremely unprofessional, difficult to work with, and displayed a genuine lack of empathy during the time I retained her for my custody case. I had to repeat the issues to her numerous times and she would still forget things. I am writing this review in hopes that it can help others in making sure they hire the right attorney. I know there are not many viable options in Jacksonville, NC but Ms. Lycans should be near the bottom of your list. In fact, my Ex-wife was extremely unhappy with her attorney but overall I can tell you that Ms. Lynn M. Smith advocated for her client at all times.
Worst attorney ever. She represented my case know FULL WELL she was switching to my exes lawyers law firm. Save your money. She is heartless. She even put it in the contract that I could not be reimbursed. She didnt try in the divorce at all, I got financially destroyed. Then quit 3 weeks before my custody trial. I have a special needs daughter that my ex didnt know how to take care of. He got custody bc I had no lawyer. Nowadays she has been abused & has multiple suicide attempts & will more than likely be institutionalized bc I had a lawyer w no soul or conscious. Save your money bc she is definitely not worth it.
