David Lee Ham, Jr. combines courtroom tenacity with international perspective. He completed his Juris Doctor in December 2001 at Florida Coastal School in Jacksonville, Florida, and enhanced his studies with programs at Moscow State University, Durham University, and the University of São Paulo—where he interned at the international business law firm Bekin & Gennari Advogados, Ltd. A member of the American Association for Justice, Mr. Ham is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian and conversant in several other languages, strengths that support his immigration and cross-cultural work. His career includes service as an attorney for the Office of the Public Defender in Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit and as a senior attorney with Child Welfare Legal Services at the Florida Department of Children and Families. He is active in community service—volunteering with Clay County Habitat for Humanity and Children’s Home Society programs—and works as a Realtor with Elevate Excel Realty, LLC and the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors. First admitted to the Florida Bar in December 2002, he was readmitted in December 2022 after a period of public service and work in education and business.
