Marjorie S. Self began her career as a physical therapist, working with patients recovering from strokes, head injuries, and other severe injuries. Helping patients regain or discover strength was deeply rewarding for her, but over time, the physical demands of the role prompted her to consider a career shift. She sought a position where she could continue to make a difference without the physical strain. Returning to her roots in Baton Rouge, Marjorie earned her J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. Today, her legal practice centers on arbitration-related collections, resident rights, exploitation issues, and conservatorships. She finds fulfillment in advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves and supporting individuals caring for the injured or elderly. Outside her practice, Marjorie enjoys biking with her dog, gardening, and spending time with family. She also has a personal goal of learning to cook and finding enjoyment in it.
