Stephanie P. Alexander is a shareholder with Smith LC. Her practice includes defense of employment and employment related claims, product liability, premises liability, and intellectual property litigation. She also acts as general counsel and provides general advice and counseling regarding employment practices to numerous employers in a wide variety of businesses.
Ms. Alexander’s litigation experience includes pre-litigation counseling and investigation through preparation of pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery and trial (both bench and jury). She has substantial trial experience in addition to experience in defending wage claims before the Labor Board. Her recent trial successes include a 2014 defense judgment following a three phase trial in a complex insurance coverage litigation matter. In 2015, she obtained a defense verdict in a sexual harassment case following a three week trial. In 2016, she obtained summary judgment in an employment discrimination matter.
Ms. Alexander also has significant experience in appellate matters. She has handled over 60 appeals in the last 10 years, and has obtained extraordinary relief in writ proceedings on numerous occasions, including two that resulted in published opinions.
