Jordan Spence is an associate in the Business Services Group and focuses his practice on both general business and employee benefits. In his general business practice, Jordan assists clients with corporate governance, contractual drafting and analysis, and mergers and acquisitions for both local and national companies. In his employee benefits practice, Jordan assists clients with employee benefit plans and programs, ESOP transactions and administration, and advises on compliance with ERISA and statutes for qualified and non-qualified retirement, health, disability, cafeteria and educational assistance plans.
Jordan excels in the unique niche of conducting comparative analyses for self-funded health plans in accordance with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA). Often, self-funded plan administrators do not have the resources or expertise to complete an analysis as required by law. Jordan performs these analyses, which allow self-funded plan administrators to fulfill their federal requirement.
Prior to joining Bose McKinney & Evans, Jordan was a corporate associate at a firm in northeast Indiana, where he conducted due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, assisted clients with employee benefit plans, advised businesses and prepared estate plans for clients at all income levels. While in law school, Jordan clerked for Indiana Legal Services, Inc.
