If I have a conviction for petty theft in Australia and am trying for L1A from work to enter US, will it be a problem?

You must always disclose any arrests you have to immigration when filling out the forms. Fortunately for you, it appears as if you may qualify for the first time petty offense exemption. How much were you charged with stealing? Were you charged with a misdemeanor or felony? Were you sentenced to any jail time?

What would happen to my status if I got a divorce?

Answered by attorney William D. Fong (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Fong Ilagan
If she is already a permanent resident, nothing will happen except that she will have to wait five years to qualify for citizenship. If she has conditional residence and you divorce, she will file the I-751 with a waiver of the joint filing requirement and will need to prove up the bona fides of the marriage.

Answered by attorney Alena Shautsova
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Alena Shautsova
Your husband has to enter in the status he intends to hold; if he comes on F2 prior to October 1, then he has to apply to change his status.
