If my girlfriend gets pregnant and I am not a resident would we end up separated?

Answered by attorney Eric M. Mark
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Eric M. Mark
Your question begs the question how you enter the country repeatedly? Do you have a visa that allows for multiple visits? A crewman visa? If so, depending on the type of visa, you may be able to gain permanent residence if you may her. If not, your repeated entries and exits into the country likely have made you subject to a permanent bar and you would not be able to obtain residence for at least ten years. Having a baby in and of itself does not give you any status.

How can I petition my children?

Christine Victoria Troy
Answered by attorney Christine Victoria Troy (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Christine Troy
If you are a green card holder or US citizen, then you can petition and should before each child is 18. If you are not legally the parent of the 3 and 5 year old, you should deal with that. For immigration, that gets complicated. For either case, have a full consult with a competent immigration attorney to review.

What are the immigration consequences of a 647.f for a resident alien?

Answered by attorney Louis M. Piscopo
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Louis M. Piscopo, APLC
Generally, the public intoxication conviction would not trigger any immigration consequences and if not on probation you could file for naturalization. However, the grand thief conviction could make you inadmissible or deportable and could cause you a problem if you file for naturalization or travel out of the U.S. You should speak to an immigration attorney regarding your matter and bring copies of the conviction documents for both cases.
