If I am an American citizen, how long will it take for my spouse to become a resident?

You have to file a petition first, it will take about 6 months to get that approved. Then you will have to file all the necessary paper work with the National Visa Center. The whole process can take 8-9 months.

Will I be deported and do I need an attorney to file for a green card renewal?

Alan Rodolfo Diamante

Since your crime was reduced you might not be deportable. You need to show the conviction document to a skilled attorney. If you were sentenced to less than six months jail and this is your only offense, you can just file for a new card. You should not leave the country.

My priority date on notice of action of US department of justice is March 19, 2001. Is a visa number available in June or July 2013

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox

Unless you are from Mexico or the Philippines, a visa number is available.  You should receive notification that your petition is ready to be processed.  Have you kept the immigration service informed of any address changes over the years?
