To DHS, an individual whose visa expires should leave the country immediately. For certain classes of individuals on working visas, they are given a 10 day grace period to leave. Those on J exchange visitor visas are given a 30 day grace period and those under F-1 student status a 60 day grace period. If you have your green card and are filing for divorce, your divorce should not affect your permanent residency. However, unless you and your spouse are able to reconcile and you do not file for divorce, I suggest that you wait the 5 years from the date that you received your green card to apply for citizenship.

If u overstayed your visa u may be subject to the ten year bar. If your child wants to petition u for a green card that is possible, but u would have to file a waiver of inadmissibility to overcome the immigration bar.
