I am married for 4 years and I have my 10 year green card. We have child together but our marriage is not working out. Can I be deported to my country

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Stephen A. Black
No. Once you have a 10 year green card, it's good for life unless you lose it by being convicted of certain crimes or if you remain outside the US for longer than a year without advance permission.

Will getting married help me immigrate faster?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
We would need to evaluate the two categories for you to advise the best option. Unless your boyfriend is still married to and living with his U.S. citizen spouse, the soonest he can apply for U.S. citizenship is 4 years and 9 months from the date he became a Permanent resident. You may want to explore other options to remain here while awaiting your boy friend to become a U.S. citizen and petition for your PR.

What do i do,i married a girl who overstayed her I94 departure date

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
If you are a U. S. citizen, and are thinking to apply for your intended’s permanent residence, the fact of the overstay will not prevent her from obtaining her permanent residence. As the spouse of a U. S. citizen, she would fall within the class of immediate relatives who are allowed to adjust status even if overstayed.
