Do you think these three years spent abroad will be an obstacle/problem obtaining Citizenship?

I don't think you would have any problem as the 3 year absence was long time ago and you certainly show you did not abandon your US residence by living in the US for another 17 years following your trip.

Where can I find an attorney to help fix and redo immigration papers?

From what you described, it appears as if your friend's husband may be eligible for adjustment of status if he enters the US with inspection. While the application is pending, he can apply for advance parole which would allow him to travel in and out of the US during the pendency of his application. We can definitely help him and your friend navigate through the immigration process.

What will happen if I am on an F1 visa and was arrested?

Visa issuance will depend on the exact charge and the maximum sentence that could have been imposed, not the actual sentence. Get a complete copy of the charging document, court order and case disposition, then consult with an attorney experienced in your state.
