I have a boyfriend in Nigeria how do I bring him to the USA so that we can get married here in the USA

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Stephen A. Black
You can either pursue the route of a fiancée visa, or you can get married and pursue the route of a spousal visa. If your boyfriend travels to the United States on a visitor visa, with the intent only to visit, but later changes his mind and decides to get married and remain, he can adjust status, even though he falls out of status. ( as long as you're a US citizen) You should retain counsel here in the state of Florida for representation.

What are my chances of returning to the US after being deported for aggravated felony?

Answered by attorney David H Stoller (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Stoller & Moreno, P.A.
Thanks for your inquiry. Truth is that the bar on returning to the US after having been convicted of an aggravated felony and being deported is forever, yes forever. Now with that said, what the immigration act says and what actually happens can be two distinct things. So my recommendation would be to have your case reviewed by a competent attorney who can give you an honest answer and will not try to get you to spend a bunch of money on nothing. Truth is that the answer is likely a "no" but that does not mean that you should not hire someone to review what is in your file and see if there is any possibility of resolving the matter. What you want to be wary of is someone who tells you that X, Y & Z can be done without first taking a look through your file. Find someone who knows how to order a file, someone who knows how to review a file and someone who can give you an adequate and accurate assessment of the possibilities with your case. Good luck.

Visa

Answered by attorney Harun Kazmi
Immigration lawyer at Kazmi & Sakata
You will not be permitted to use the ESTA/Visa Waiver again. You will need to obtain a tourist visa from the US consulate in your home country if you wish to return. If you overstay 6 months you cannot return for 3 years(10 years if you overstay a year and then leave).  It is not likely that they will deport you (unless you are arrested under some separate crime).
