How long after marriage until spouse can come to the US?

Answered by attorney David H Nachman
Immigration lawyer at NPZ Law Group
Once you are married you will need to file petitions for your wife and for your step child. The processing time varies depending upon the service center that handles it but generally these cases are taking anywhere between 6 to 9 months After these petitions are approved then the cases are sent to the National Visa Center for processing. Once the cases are cleared they are sent to the US Consulate Office abroad. Processing at the US consulate abroad depends upon the number of folks who are in-line for visas.

Can my sister be a joint sponsor on my affidavit of support for my daughter?

Answered by attorney M. Gabriela Ungo
Immigration lawyer at GC Ungo Immigration
Your sister could be a co-sponsor provided she is a lawful permanent resident or U.S. citizen and that she has enough income to maintain your daughter and the rest of her household at 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. You will still need to submit a signed I-824 and a separate form for the co-sponsor.

Is there any way to expedite my father in law's citizenship?

Answered by attorney Lynne Rogers Feldman
Immigration lawyer at Feldman Feldman Associates, PC
If the Priority Date is not current the military card won't help. If there is a closer relative to him than a sister it will faster.
