My immigration case status says in active review by immigration service officer what does that mean?

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
That means an immigration officer, often a supervisor, is reviewing the case file together with the recommendation of the initial reviewing officer.

Should I still submit form I131 even though I don’t plan to travel in the time and wait for my green card?

Answered by attorney David H Nachman
Immigration lawyer at NPZ Law Group
We generally recommend that you do so. You are paying for it anyway. The issue is whether or not you should actually use it. If you have accrued 180 (or more days) of unlawful presence then you may end up being barred from re-entry. Be careful and be sure to seek the assistance of qualified immigration counsel here.

Do I have to stay in the United States if you get married for citizenship?

Answered by attorney Hans Burgos (Unclaimed Profile)

You should not be concerned about filing a Petition for Relative (Form I-130) given that you both are not planning to reside permanently in the United States after your marriage. Consider filing a Form I-130 the moment you both decide to reside permanently in this country.
