Will my husband be put in risk to get hi residency taken from him if we come back into the U.S from Mexico for Christmas vacation?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
A person can be charged with many crimes, but the determining factor is what he was convicted of or pleaded guilty to. If it was for having 2 g of coke, and if the problem was discovered at the time of inspection coming back to the United States, there would certainly be an issue. He would likely be placed in removal proceedings in which an immigration judge would ultimately make the decision as to whether he could keep the green card. Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question. What does an order of immigration judge granted mean?

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
It could just be an order setting the hearing date.  I would have to see the paper you received to answer your question.  I recommend you hire a lawyer to represent you in your removal proceedings.

If we are filling for a green card, will my wife need a core-sponsor as she is not working?

Answered by attorney Carlos Raul Juelle (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Herrera & Juelle LLP
If you are working in the US with authorization, your earnings can count towards the amount needed under the affidavit of support for your wife to sponsor you. If your earn enough on your own to qualify, then the fact that she is not working should not be an issue.
