How do I obtain a replacement for lost green card?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
If you moved back to Canada in 1995 with no visits or sporadic visits to the U. S. since then, you would have lost your green card long ago. You would probably have to start the process all over again of immigrating to the States. If your children are U. S. citizens and over the age of 21, they could conceivably petition for your immigration. If they were 18 years or older at the time that you married with your 2nd wife, however, they would not be able to petition for her. In that situation, you would have to immigrate first and sponsor your wife under the F-2A category for spouses of lawful permanent residents. The backlog before she could enter the States with permanent residence is approximately 2-3 years. I married a Jamaican man and his behaviour is horrible. I haven't to filed a green card for him yet . We married 1 year. I want divorce can I divorce

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Stephen A. Black
Yes if you decide you want a divorce then retain a divorce lawyer. However, if the marriage can be saved and you wish to proceed to sponsor your spouse for his green card, then retain an Immigration lawyer here in Florida.

How much income is required?

Answered by attorney Stephen Arnold Black
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Stephen A. Black
You have to factor in household size , your adjusted gross income and the poverty guidelines. Discuss with counsel here in Florida to see if you meet the minimum income level to be a financial sponsor. If not then a joint sponsor needs to be engaged. If this is a sponsorship for a non immigrant visa then different rules apply.
