US citizen married in UK to UK ciitizen

Dina Jayne Sakita White
Answered by attorney Dina Jayne Sakita White (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Madison Piper PC
If your husband is seeking a temporary stay in the U.S. only, then the appropriate visa would depend on the nature and purpose of his trip to the U.S. If your husband is interested in U.S. Permanent Residency, then you would file an I-130 Immigrant Petition for an immediate relative. Please note that filing an I-130 could have adverse implications on his ability to visit the U.S. in certain temporary (nonimmigrant) statuses so the timing of any application needs careful consideration. Please note that this information is generic in nature and is not intended to be a substitute for specific legal advice in a given situation.  If you have any questions about these issues or any other area of Immigration Law please contact our office.

I'm from the Bahamas, can I get asylum here in the US?

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
The question is why were you treated this way?  Was it because of your race, religion, nationality or membership in a particular social group?  It is possible to obtain asylum if non-governmental actors are the persecutors, but the basis of the persecution must be one of those listed above.

We are Egyptian couple , our son was born in the states 2 years ago , is there any chance to get permit for his mother to stay with him in the states

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
The law does not provide for a parent to stay and obtain a work permit on the basis that there is a 2-year-old U. S. citizen child. If there is something seriously wrong with the child medically and the problem cannot be taking care of in Egypt, U.S.C.I.S. may entertain allowing a parent extensions of stay or even perhaps deferred action on removal if the circumstances warrant such action.Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question.
