How do I get a US passport and how much does it cost?

Answered by attorney Bruce A. Coane (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Coane & Associates, PLLC
In order to get a USA passport, you must be a USA citizen. You can file for that on Form N-400. You also mentioned you filed for bankruptcy. This is not a problem, normally, unless you owe the IRS tax money and have not made arrangements to pay.

How can I return to the United states legally?

Brian D Lerner
Answered by attorney Brian D Lerner (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Brian D. Lerner
*H-1B Specialty Occupation Visa* You qualify for what is known as the H-1B Specialty Occupation Visa. You will need to have an employer agree to sponsor you for a job. It does not need to be a full-time position, but it should be related to your degree. Our firm can do the entire petition. Once we begin processing and get it filed, it normally takes about six to nine months to get the approval. Please note that H-1B's are very limited and are only available for small periods of time during the year. Therefore, Premium Processing discussed next should be used. If you want a work permit in an expedited manner, you can take advantage of the Premium Processing program at USCIS. This will allow you to have the expedited answer in less than one month. You will need to add $1,500.00 to the cost below for Premium Processing. There are only a limited number of H-1B's and it must be filed by April 1. However, it is still possible it will not get selected for this years allotment. *Waiver of Inadmissibility* A Waiver of Inadmissibility will have to be obtained. This is an application that will include a legal brief, forms, documents, exhibits, declarations and other evidence. My firm can prepare the entire waiver, and attach all of the necessary documents. It will take several months for the decision, and if done correctly, there is a good chance of an approval. The Waiver essentially makes the crime or ground of ineligibility disappear so that entry or re-entry will be allowed into the U.S. Please note that the Waiver is the critical part of this application, and unless approved, there cannot be any other petition that will allow entry into the U.S. Therefore, the Waiver must be prepared with significant supporting documents.

Can I write a letter of invitation for a US visa?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Phong Thanh Tran (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Pho Ethan Tran, PLLC
Yes. You can write an invitation letter for your friend on the company's letterhead. The letter should clearly clearly state who you are, what services you are offering, and why you want to invite your friend to the training sessions. If there is any indication that your friend will be working in the US during his time here, such as organizing tutoring and training sessions, his application will most likely be denied.
