Do I have to have a job to fix my parents' papers?

Answered by attorney Lana Vladimirovna Kurilova Rich (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Lana Kurilova Rich PLLC
I assume you are a US citizen and want to sponsor the green cards for your parents. In order to do that, you have to be 21 years old and you either have to have sufficient income to sponsor your parents, or you must have a joint sponsor who has sufficient income and who is also a US citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder). It can be a friend or a relative, does not matter - someone with sufficient income who will agree to be a sponsor.

Can I stay in the US past my I-94 expiration?

Answered by attorney David Nabow Soloway
Immigration lawyer at Kennedy, Nalepa & Soloway, P.C.
Upon filing a proper Application for Adjustment of Status, the applicant attains a new status - that of applicant for permanent residency - and this entitles the applicant to remain in the U.S. while his/her case is pending notwithstanding the expiration of a previous non-immigrant visa or expiration of the time shown on Form I-94. That new status, by itself, however does not authorize the person to be employed, and instead he/she must wait until an Employment Authorization Document is received - usually within 60-90 days of filing.

How can i file an expungement for my husband for a conviction of evading arrest in 2008. Does he qualify for an expungement.

Alexander Joseph Segal
Answered by attorney Alexander Joseph Segal (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Offices of Grinberg & Segal, PLLC
Expungement does not work in immigration law so do not bother. If you are doing for something else, then it is not an immigration law question.
