If that's the whole story, it doesn't sound like it will be a problem. Convictions are a problem, but arrests n this scenario should be okay. No one knows for sure since the new process is untested.

In order for your sons to be eligible for adjustment of status, you must become a naturalized citizen and petition for them before they turn 21 years of age.

If your conviction is classified as a crime involving moral turpitude (CIMT) but you have only one such conviction then it should not be a problem; however, if two or more CIMT or the conviction depending on sentencing is classified as an aggravated felony after becoming legal resident then you could be placed in removal proceedings.
