I am a US citizen and my parents are in Nicaragua; can I go to the US Embassy in Nicaragua to get them visas?

Answered by attorney Michael Alexander Yurasov-Lichtenberg (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Havens Lichtenberg PLLC
The right way to do this is to file immigrant petitions for your parents here. The USCIS will process the petitions in 5 to 14 months. You will not save either the time or the money by going to the U.S. Embassy. The wait can be avoided, but you will have to discuss this with an immigration attorney.

Will I need to get a new visa or can I travel on my existing B1/2 visa?

As long as your visa is still valid, you can still use the visa to travel. However, whether you will be allowed to entered the United States at the port of entry or be denied entry will depend on the immigration officer interviewing you.

How can I get my 23 year old husband his paper if he came here as a baby?

If you are a US citizen, you can file a visa petition for your husband now. If he entered the US with a visa, he can apply to adjust his status at the same time. If he is under 31, he can apply for deferred action if he entered the US without inspection.
