I am on an M1 visa with I20 expiring today. Extension was applied last week, Do I still have a legal status and till when?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
USCIS allows individuals who have filed a timely request for extension to remain in the US until the time that the extension request is adjudicated. Of course, if the time requested is close to expiration and there has not yet been an adjudication, the agency would expect the individual to leave or to submit another application prior to the ending date of the requested extension. Can lawyers legally accept referral bonuses?

Paul L. Whitfield
Answered by attorney Paul L. Whitfield (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Paul Whitfield and Associates P.A.
A lawyer cant pay you but I don't know any reason why you cant pay him. You might ask him directly. He may want to ask the Bar ethics committee to answer your question first.

Can my husband be legalized if I am disabled?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Eric Arden Fisher (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Eric A. Fisher, LLC
If you and/or your son are US citizens, you can file a visa petition for your husband, which is the first step in his becoming "legal". There may be other options, but I would need to know much more before giving any advise.
