Jim Richardson is the Founding Partner of Richardson Maples, P.C. He is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, and a fifth-generation lawyer (son of a former Alabama State Bar president, grandson and brother of Madison County judges).
Jim’s practice has always involved civil litigation, representing plaintiffs and defendants, individuals and businesses, both domestic and foreign.
Over the years, he has been engaged in a wide variety of cases, but with a large number of insurance-related matters, such as liability claims of all types, coverage disputes, bad faith, and fraud. He has handled hundreds of cases for the insurance industry.
Frustrated with the hostile manner in which his former insurance clients treated accident victims, policyholders, and their lawyers, Jim chose to focus his practice on representing victims of accidents and insurance company abuse. He finds great professional gratification in the opportunity to bring his experience to bear on behalf of the injured and to standing up for the individuals who have experienced the predatory practices of today’s insurance industry.
Jim and his wife Nancy are the proud parents of two sons (Ben and Will). Ben is a 2016 honors graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, and Will is a student at Vanderbilt University. He is also contemplating law school.
Jim and Nancy are members of First United Methodist Church and have been active on a variety of community boards in the Huntsville area.
