Mr. Matthews graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marshall University in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He completed his legal studies in 2002 at the West Virginia University College of Law. He is admitted to the West Virginia State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia. Mr. Matthews also has practiced in bankruptcy court and in administrative proceedings before the United States Department of Defense.

Mr. Matthews focuses his practice on litigation and his practice covers a wide area including warranty law, construction law, insurance defense, and design professional litigation. He also has experience in white collar criminal defense and election law issues.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.
