Robert A. "Rob" Swofford, a Nassau Bay, Texas native,
completed his high school education at Clear Creek High School in
1983. After earning his undergraduate degree from Baylor University,
he successfully graduated from South Texas College of Law in May
1994, garnering recognition for his academic achievements during his
law school tenure.
Post-graduation,
Rob embarked on his legal career under the guidance of renowned
Criminal Defense attorney Dan Cogdell. In 2006, he earned the
distinction of being recognized as one of Houston's Top Lawyers in
the realm of Criminal Defense. His reputation continued to grow,
earning him placement in the Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers by The
National Trial Lawyers and recognition as one of the 10 Best
Attorneys by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys.
Rob has
personally handled cases across State and Federal courts, presenting
arguments at various levels. His clientele includes high-profile
individuals, and his work has been featured in national and local

appearances on national broadcasts, including "Dateline NBC,"

showcase his legal skills.

practice in The State of Texas and Federal District Courts for the
Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, as well as the United States
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Rob's legal reach extends to multiple
states. His representation spans areas like California, Oregon, North
Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia,
Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Hawaii.
Throughout his
career, Rob has contributed significantly, including serving with
Greer, Herz and Adams in insurance defense, notably participating in
national litigation for DirectTV against over 15,000 defendants
accused of piracy. Beyond his legal practice, he has served as Vice
President and general counsel to a Houston-based engineering and
consulting firm, catering to clients nationally and internationally.
Establishing the
Swofford Law Firm in 2009, Rob has continuously provided legal
assistance, focusing on Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Commercial
Litigation, and Construction Law. Currently, he serves as General
Counsel to ELS Construction, Inc., a national commercial construction
company with an annual business turnover exceeding 30 million
dollars.
