Outside Activities:
· Justice for Children - Founder and Spokesperson of national child advocacy group with offices in Texas, Michigan and Washington, D.C., which provides pro bono legal services to victims of child abuse, sponsors legislation, and educates community leaders about reforms to legal institutions and governmental agencies to make these systems more accountable and protective of child abuse victims.
· Oilfield Helping Hands - Member of Board of Directors and General Counsel for this non-profit organization that raises funds for distribution to individuals and families that are employed in the oil industry who have dire financial needs due to a serious illness, injury or death in their family or some other catastrophe.
· Texas Child Fatality Review Team Project, State Committee - Charter member of State Bar committee to investigate and draft legislation to create a statewide child death review system under a Children's Justice Act Grant to Texas; appointed to original State committee enacted by Legislature to oversee implementation of statewide system, 1995-1999.
· Children's Trust Fund of Texas Council - Appointed by Governor Richards for a 6-year term that expired August 31, 1999.
